Diskover Us ("we", "us") is a travel-planning website at diskoverus.com. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what your choices are. Questions any time: contact@diskoverus.com.

What we collect

• Account information. If you create an account, we receive your name, email address, and (with Google sign-in) your profile photo. Accounts are managed by Google Firebase Authentication.
• Content you share. Star ratings, written experiences, photos, and blog comments you choose to post are stored (Google Firestore for text, Cloudinary for images) and shown publicly on the site with your display name.
• Moodboard favorites. Photos you ♥ in the gallery are saved to your account so they follow you across devices.
• Itineraries. Activities you save are stored in your browser, and, if you're signed in, in your account so they sync across devices.
• Ask Diskover chat history. If you're signed in, your conversation with the Ask Diskover chatbot (your last 60 messages) is saved to your account so it's there next time you visit. Guests' chats stay on-device for that browser tab only and are never sent to us.
• Newsletter email. If you subscribe, your email is stored by Netlify Forms and used only to send the newsletter.

What we don't do

We don't sell your data, we don't run third-party advertising, and we don't collect more than the features need.

Cookies and local storage

We use browser local storage to remember your itinerary and preferences, and Firebase uses cookies/storage to keep you signed in. No advertising trackers. A one-time notice on the site explains this; dismissing it is remembered on your device.

Embedded videos

Some gallery videos are embedded from YouTube using its privacy-enhanced player. If you play one, YouTube may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy.

Service providers

We rely on: Netlify (hosting, newsletter form), Google Firebase (accounts, database), Cloudinary (image hosting), and ImprovMX (email forwarding). Each processes data under its own privacy terms.

Deleting your data

You can delete any story or blog comment you posted, and delete your entire account, including your itinerary, moodboard, stories, comments, and chat history, yourself from your account page. Anything we miss, email contact@diskoverus.com.

Children

Diskover Us is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above.
